PD Session 15: Bling My Blogger

Blogs can be a way for students to practice writing with an audience, reflect on classwork, share thoughts about life, and/or collaborate on assignments. Ms. Maguire’s AP class used a class blog to build a dictionary of literary terms. Ms. Van Liew uses a blog to share information with her students and parents. A Math teacher I worked with had his students blog about their math problems to explain how the students knew their answers were correct. A Science teacher uses a class blog to record different lab experiments in his Chemistry class. An group of administrators keep a blog to provide professional development to other administrators and teachers. And a certain EdTech guy, who works at CDS, uses his blog to promote the PD sessions offered in The Zone. Blogs also make excellent professional portfolios. Join this session to brainstorm ways you could utilize blogs for yourself and your students and learn how to setup and manage blogs. Session attendance will be recorded and you will receive a certificate for the number of hours you attend throughout the term. Great for teaching license renewal and perfect for helping you with becoming a Google Certified Teacher. Come to The Zone and get your PD on!
